PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Being attorney specialized in competition law, Ana-Maria’s engagement includes working on antitrust matters, state aid and merger control. Her legal practice within the state aid area includes reviewing notifications of public interventions, subsidies, individual aids or aid schemes. Also, she advises clients on eligibility criteria and qualifications for being beneficiaries of state aid and provided guidance when it comes to compatibility with EU rules. Besides from that, her role includes a growing number of other competition law engagements, especially drafting and preparation of merger notifications and assistance with obtaining clearance decisions and preparing client’s defense against allegations of the formation of cartel and abuse of dominant position.
On a daily basis, she reviews many vertical agreements and analyses horizontal relations between undertakings. She has been leading and organizing many workshops and educations for clients which helps them to be compliant when conducting their business activities on the market. Besides that, she continuously works on many educational projects with clients and other colleagues, including participating in conferences examining different competition law aspects.
Ana-Maria is also experienced within the regulatory matters and compliance, where she provides daily advice to clients based on extensive research, with a special focus on issues relating to anti-money laundering and terrorist financing rules within the national framework. Her legal practice in the real estate sector includes helping clients and investors with project development and management, drafting of all necessary agreements, preparation of project documentation and other transactional support.
