Conference on Corporate Governance in Croatia

A conference on Corporate governance in Croatia was held on 15 September 2015 in Zagreb. It was organized by the Croatian Governance Research and Development Centre and Lider, and sponsored by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Ms Kolinda Grabar Kitarović. The program was designed as a series of relevant lectures and three round tables.
The guests were welcomed by Mayor Milan Bandić, with back-to-back appearances of eminent lecturers and entrepreneurs. The speaker list includesthe names of, among others, Darko Tipurić, a professor with the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb and President CIRU, and Neven Vranković, the vice president of Atlantic Group. The conference panellists have discussed on the hot topics in corporate Croatia: from companies in which the state has significant ownership interests to family-owned and small enterprises, with Davor Štern, Ljubo Jurčić, Alen Premužak, Mladen Vedriš, Ljiljana Katačić, Mladen Fogec and Dina Tomšić as some of the panellists.
Saša Divjak, senior partner at Divjak, Topić & Bahtijarević Law Firm, also contributed as a panellist to the debate on the development of corporate governance and actual practice in Croatia.
The importance of the role of corporate governance was emphasized by potentiating the aspects of corporate social responsibility.
